After being named on the subs bench for last night's CORRUPT League Group D game against Porto, Ross Turnbull, Sam Hutchinson, Joe Cole, Jeffrey Bruma, Fabio Borini and Danny Sturridge turned out in a reserve team friendly against Ipswich Town at Cobham today. Also in today's side was Paulo Ferreira another long term injury victim. Joey and Paulo both played 90 minutes & Joey was captain.

Danny Sturridge was the hero of 90 minutes scoring a hat-trick with Fabio Borini and Jeffrey Bruma grabbing the other goals as Chelsea won 5-2 despite Ipswich Town taking an early lead.

Nemanja Matic played 45 minutes after recovering from a broken bone in his foot.

I have absolutely no affinity with the CORRUPT League this season and even if Chelsea do make it to Madrid I will stay at home and watch it on the box.

I don't see why I have to fork out my hard earned pennies to line the pockets of an organisation who, led by a man who hates English football, an organisation who bitch amongst themselves, suspending a player for two games and then their appeals committe rescind the original punishment.

Lets face it, Eduardo DID dive!

If the cap fits, let the 'cheat' wear it.

After last night's performance without Didier Drogba, Chelsea will struggle against Nicosia and the back to back fixtures against Atletico Madrid.

Anelka and Kalou are too lightweight up front. Some of the crosses getting into Porto's box were crying out for a target man and Sturridge must have been screaming 'boss, boss, boss let me on.'

What did the boss do? He replaces Belletti for Kalou. Fortunately Porto were unable to take one of their many chances and therefore 'Anco' got away with it, despite the fact that Chelsea had the majority of the possession.

Chelsea's goal and ultimate winner had a sense of irony about it. Anelka is not a target man and he missed the header from a long punt upfield, but the ball dropped nicely to Kalou who fed Anelka in.

Helton saved well from Anelka's initial shot but from the rebound, Anelka responded well and tucked the ball high into the net from a tight angle.

Interesting that all the young subs from last night scored - Sturridge was obviously coiled like a cobra - a hat-trick.

Our football overall was reasonable considering the conditions and after a sluggish start we started to look a bit more like our old selves....Of course, during the last 20 mins we became increasingly under the cosh.

Very disappointed that Kalou didn´t go off for Sturridge.

Anleka - great finish!

Not the best of nights but the 3 points are in the bag.
