Chelsea Football Club today has been banned from signing any players during the next TWO transfer windows by FIFA after being found guilty of 'tapping-up' youngster and future starlet Gael Kakuta from Lens in 2007.

Kakuta himself has been served a FOUR MONTH worldwide ban and jointly ordered with Chelsea Football Club to pay his former club Lens £682,000 in compensation.

Gael has just returned to action from long lay offs after injury. His recent injury came in the last year when he broke his leg in a training session.

Gael was instrumental in Chelsea's reserves win at Portsmouth on Tuesday night when they recovered from their first day beating by Aston Villa. Goals from Adam Phillip (3) and Fabio Borini (2) secured a very impressive 5-2 win.

This ban and fine has come completely out of the blue, considering yesterday Chelsea announced that Kakuta was in their B list for this season's Champions League campaign.

At the time of writing, Chelsea have yet to release a statement.

FIFA's statement on their ruling reads:

"On the occasion of its last meeting held on 27 August 2009, the Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) was called to pass a decision in a contractual dispute opposing the French club Lens to the French player Gael Kakuta and the English club Chelsea.

"The French club had lodged a claim with FIFA seeking compensation for breach of contract from the player and requesting also sporting sanctions to be imposed on the player and the English club for breach of contract and inducement to breach of contract respectively.

"The DRC found that the player had indeed breached a contract signed with the French club. Equally, the DRC deemed it to be established that the English club induced the player to such a breach.

"As a result the player was condemned to pay compensation in the amount of €780,000, for which the club, Chelsea, are jointly and severally liable, and sporting sanctions were imposed on both the player and Chelsea in accordance with art. 17 par. 3 and 4 of the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players.

"A restriction of four months on his eligibility to play in official matches has been imposed on Kakuta. Chelsea are banned from registering any new players, either nationally or internationally, for the two next entire and consecutive registration periods following the notification of the present decision. Furthermore, the club, Chelsea, have to pay Lens training compensation in the amount of €130,000."

Absolutely unbelievable!

If anyone had any doubts about the completely disproportionate punishment handed out to Chelsea compared to other clubs here is the final proof.

Just imagine the amount of other clubs in this situation that UEFA are more than happy to turn a blind eye to - I´d love to see some digging done on some other English clubs and in particular Barcelona and Real Madrid - BUT that wont happen though!!!!
