Finally for most of us Chelsea's competitive season kicks off in earnest this afternoon as we take on the Champions (3 years running) at Wembley in the Premiership curtain raiser, the Community Shield. For me it doesn't feel like the 11 or 12 weeks or so since last season ended, with personal stuff going on, the time as whizzed past super-sonic style.
The lapse in time only feels like minutes. I have had s**t to deal with that you wouldn't want to wish on your best friend - but enough of that
IT'S FOOTBALL TIME!!
I had to laugh at our new coach - Anco - expressing his love for the rain in the UK - didn't it rain in Milan 'Anco?'

He said, "I like the weather in England because I don't like the sun. Every day rain, rain, rain. Rain makes good pitches. This is a good temperature to work in."
Chelsea expect to be at full strength, with the exception on Yuri Zhirkov who has damaged his knee, however he could be back in time for the Hull game next Saturday, which kicks off at 12.45pm.
Utd, after selling Tevez and Ronaldo, have Van Der Saar, Vidic, Neville and Brown out but Michael Owen is expected to start. Now knowing SAF like everyone does, I can see him bringing Owen back to his scoring days when he was at Liverpool.
Beware JT and Alex or Carvalho!!
There will be no Di Santo or Scott Sinclair in the squad because they have been sent out on loan - Di Santo has gone to Blackburn for six months and Scottie has gone to Wigan for the season and with Miroslav Stoch already despatched to Holland for the season, that only leaves Michael Mancienne and Sam Hutchinson from the reserves given squad numbers for the new season.
Also given squad numbers are returning loanees - Sheva (No.7) and Pizarro (14).
To me it doesn't make sense as Mr A has lauded since he invested millions in the Academy set-up at Cobham, that he wanted to see the youngsters coming through. All our youngsters have been sent away and not forgetting BIG Frank Nouble leaving us for West Ham.
Other youngsters who have gone on loan are: Lee Sawyer to Southend United for sx months (currently injured with a busted rib), Ryan Bertrand to Reading for the season and Tom Taiwo who has gone to Carlisle United for six months.
