Liverpool 1-3 Chelsea: History, History We Aint Got None!!!!

You Kept Your Promise

By Since66
April 8 2009

Apparently Chelsea and Liverpool Football Clubs are in discussion on how to remember Hillisborough next Tuesday when the two teams meet in the 2nd leg of the Champions League quarter-final. After tonight's result, scousers please don't bother turning up and forget about remembering Hillsborough!! There's no need you ain't going to Rome!! (Match highlights Video included)

Why should we remember Hillsborough? Remember those who died yes, but remember the cause NO!!

branislav1-1

Why? A one word song says it all and as for the Pool's response to Chelsea fans 'about having no history, the 'pool had better think up another song pretty quick on how about they are gonna win at The Bridge by three clear goals.... gonna happen?

Nah fcuk off.

When Torres put 'Pool one up inside ten minutes I thought to myself here we go again and because we weren't attacking the Kop in the second half, I knew we needed to score in the first half to give us a fighting chance.

branislav2-1

Score we did. After Dids missed two gilt edged chances, Branislav headed us level to silence the 'noise' machine and lets be honest the Kop and the rest of the 'scousers' tonight, their support was 'kin shit!!!

didier3-1

The Scousers have had the front for many a year to criticise our support at The Bridge where most of this season the Kop as been as quiet as a doormouse, just like the Kop were quiet tonight!!!

History. We have got loads of it.

When Branislav put Chelsea 2-1 up at the Chelsea end and Dids scored Chelsea's 3rd - deservedly so - and Dids knows he should have had three - next Tuesday night should be a formality and whatever rememberance is arranged, I will be remembering my Dad's passing on March 4th 2009, my Mothers passing on April 26th 1977 and I will be remembering that some Leicester fan held a knife to my throat at Leicester station on the same day as the Hillsborough disaster.

There is only one thing worse than a bad loser and thats a bad winner. I am a liverpool fan who is under no illusions about who was the better side tonight and i can openly admit we were lucky to come away with only 3-1 down. Before reading articles like this i would have applauded chelsea for their effort.

But articles like the ones above just highlight how any blatantly ignorant classless individuals affiliated to a club can write articles on the net these days. Mate if your club were asked to comment on this they would disassociate themselves with you your website and any of the garbage that you consider content.

If any Liverpool player were to see this article they would need no more motivation to go and ram 3 goals down your throat in stamford bridge for the 96 people that lost their lives 20 years ago.

Its idiots like you that give your club a bad name

Even I was surprised at that article and I've been reading garbage on this site for a long time. Classless is exactly the right word. From preview to review you have shown your super inferior standards.

I only came on here this morning to say well done you deserved the win, and I won't let the total ignorance of an obnoxious few on here deter me from that.

Well done Chelsea.

A great game for us blues last night and Hiddink got the best out of a team that had been written off. This is what should be talked about and not some inane and disrepectful slur to the tradegy of the past. You mention the passing of your father and mother in the very same 'article', that somehow you think that we should honour when you simply disgrace yourself with your own words. You should be ashamed of yourself and do a great disjustice to my team that you also say you support - no team need fans like you and your bile is better off kept in your own head and not placed on the net to insult and abuse.

And good luck in the double-push from both our clubs on Man Utd in the league.

Re the Hillsborough comments in the article: We ALL feel for the 39 innocents that died that day. We know th police were ALSO at fault and what really really grates us is the failure to acknowledge even one grain of fault yourselves.

The disproportion of remmbrances between Heysel and Hillsborough speak volumes. The memorials for those poor souls at Hillsborough will continue whilst NONE OF YOU admit any fault at all - SHAME ON YOU and it´s this fact that grates at some of us whilst we are asked to participate in the remembrance. Why should WE help you in falsely easing your conscience?

As for the match:

I was WRONG on so many counts yesterday; The man who I thought would be our weak link scored two goals for a start! Playing Essein too deep was a crime I first thought - but of course he stifled Gerrard and then of course keeping the back line deep was for a very good reason - we had no pace at the back (Cole excepted) so could not afford to leave too much space behind with the pace they had. In short - very impressed with Hiddink´s tactics.

The other thing that impressed me was our compusure after going one down - exceptional - it´s as if they knew they were going to win anyway -complete faith!

Great night!

It remains to be seen if we have punctured Liverpool´s recent charge in the league (even though WE are top in current form - but if you read the media you wouldn´t think that!).

Firstly, let's at least show respect for the number of dead at Hillsborough. It was 96. 39 died at Heysel.

Now, I know proof is a very hard concept for you personally to grasp, but please, I'm begging you, show the proof of your accusations.

Unfortunately i don't think the remembrance that Chelsea and Liverpool are thinking up on Tuesday night is a good idea and it is a shame.I speak for the majority of Chelsea fans that will show respect for the 96 that died at Hillsborough but unfortunately there are people throughout the country that feel that the blame also was your own fans and you keep denying it.That is why this keeps coming up.

carefree2009,

i will always congrate where due, i am open mined on most things even other supporters views will always share a bevie &
a good chat or banter, but i'm angry at a few comments on our board & the article here it wasn't called for I have always defended my club as i am proud of it. yes we do have idiots that give us bad name as you have & other clubs do too.

Hillsborough was just like any other semi, a good day out great atmosphere, our fans got barracked & demised that day
for everything & it makes me sick. No one was brought to justice for neglect or incompetance so our fans will be blamed for it all. we were only doing wat other fans normally do nothing more than than usual.

heysel, yes we fought them but after being harrased all day long. segregation was a joke the ground was a joke the italians were all goody goody don't make me laugh.

Not sayin anymore had enough, & had my say. carefree i will b nice ta anyone thats nice ta me & like a bit of banter
& listen & contribute with discussion bout my club or general footie.

get my drift...?

Don't quite understand what you mean there Marserg. Are you saying that you don't like our fans in genersl (which is fine by me) or are you saying that we get credit when we deserve other than that? And if so, for what reason?

carefree, if you were accused of something and it was then proved by a government appointed high official that you didn't do it, thereby innocent, would you not deny and protest your innocence whenever someone said you really had done it? If you had a child die in the incident would you not look for justice till your dying day?

I can understand you saying 'oh no not again' but you and I both know that the writer of that article was being particularly provocative just so he could get hits to this board. Cheap and nasty to say the least but he's got what he was looking for. It's now up to whoever to show the proof of their words.

96 people died at Hillsborough because police failed in their duty to provide a safe environment in which to watch football. Nobody was prosecuted or held for blame. Injustice.

Heysel was the fault of a charge by Liverpool supporters, held for blame and prosecuted.

Its true the blame is now pointless and lets leave it there.

On Tuesday boys lets just think about those men and women boys and girls that just went on their way to support their team in a game they were no doubt looking forward too all week.Lets also think of the families that thought their loved ones would be safe just going to a football match. The fact is it could have happened to any body that day.I have been many a time outside grounds getting crushed(Filbert street) for one waiting to go in and nearly passing out and fans panicking, kicking the gates to get in to get away it happened to me many a time.It could have happened to us that day and any other day.

Lets leave it there now lads, all the chanting really has to stop, like i said the blame is now pointless and lets respect their loved ones.Lets just talk football guys and girls. We are a good club and we have showed in past how we pay are respects. We have also had our fair share of tragedy in the past. carefree, I respect what you say and understand where you're coming from, but no, the blame isn't pointless. Not when you have the main culprit retired on a big pension and spending his days happily playing golf.

Not when you have a mother who was told her son was dead or brain dead before 3.15 and that no time after that would be considered. Only for her to find out from a WPC that her son was actually still alive at 4-o-clock that day and with his dying words asked for his mother, thereby refuting the dead or brain dead summisation, and saving the police the question of why more lives weren't saved.

You mention trying to kick gates in, can't really see what that has to do with it, Gate C was opened by Murray on the orders of Duckenfield. That lying coward then told Graham Kelly that Liverpool fans had broken the gate down, who then went on national tv and broadcast the lie to the world while fans were still dying. The start of a classic smear that Yorkshire police built on in the most disgusting way to take the blame from themselves.

There were 40 odd ambulances outside that day, barred from coming in by the police, so right there outside the ground was a chance to save many lives and maybe make up for some of the pre match incompetence but no, they failed in that also.

I could go on and on about how the police conducted themselves that day, and if they hadn't tried to cover it up by lying through their teeth and blaming fans this disaster would be still as hurtful for families and fans, but kept within the family of Liverpool Football Club, That they chose not to admit to their disgraceful incompetence is the reason that blame isn't pointless and justice will always be sought.

You're right mate, it could have been any teams fans, we the footy supporters were treated like animals in those days and instead of using this disaster as a stick to beat Liverpool fans with (that's not meant at you) we should all be looking for justice for the 96.
