Match of the Day won't be the same without Mr Charisma offering his humble opinions of the day's action that had taken place before him. Instead and with the eyes of the world at St James' Park tomorrow, Shearer takes charge of the Barcodes with Ian Dowie alongside against Chelsea.

Two men without a strand of personality between them, hopefully will give their pre-match team talk that will send the wearers of the Barcode quickly and soundly off to sleep.

Shearer. This is the man that after Blackburn won the Premiership, went home and creosoted his garden fence.

St James' Park hasn't been completely full in recent weeks, but you can put your mortgage that the ground will be packed to the rafters and the noise generated will be louder than a nuclear explosion!!

John Terry, scorer of England's late winner against Ukraine on Wednesday night, returned to Cobham on Thursday afternoon insisting that Chelsea will go to St James' Park and SPOIL Shearer's party.

Terry said, "Alan Shearer is Newcastle through and through and him taking over as manager for now is going to give them a massive lift.

"But it is down to us to go there, show what we are capable of, which we have been doing a lot of the time recently and get a result. (Except for the performance at Tottingham, JT).

"The title race is still not over for us and we will be going there to hopefully upset him in his first game in charge."

Apart from Jose Bosingwa's gash leg, all players returned from International duty fully fit and there are no serious injury worries. The bonus is if you want to look at it as a bonus is that Deco is fully fit and played for Portugal. Not bad for player who was ruled out for the rest of the season.

What Michael Ballack will turn up at Toonland tomorrow? The Ballack that scored two wonderful goals for Germany or the Ballack who has gone back to his 'lazy' first year form?

Well he`s only there short term and when we turn them over on Saturday that will be one nail in the coffin for Mr Shearer.
