JT in his programme notes, wishes all Chelsea fans travelling to Rome on Tuesday to be safe and careful. He said, "I want everyone travelling to be careful and sensible." He added, "Enjoy the city and the game. Let's all get home safe and with a good result."

Chelsea Football Club also published advice in yesterday's programme which said, 'We would ask all supporters for their patience and understanding in the Italian capital, especially if dealing with the local police as methods of policing differ to those in England.

'Chelsea supporters will be located in sections 50, 51 and 52 accessed via the entrance Distini Nord Ovest of the Stadio Olimpico. The stadium will open at 6.30pm. Fans are asked to get there as early as possible as allocated seating will not apply so early arrivals will get the best seats.

'The Rome police strongly recommend that you do not make your way to the stadium on foot. A shuttle service will be available from 5pm at Pzie delle Canestre in Villa Borghese in Rome to take you to the stadium and these shuttles will be at the end of the match to take you back to the centre of Rome.

'Take your passport or other photo ID with you. Alcohol is banned from the stadium and at the end of the match Chelsea supporters will be held back for around one hour.

'There will be restrictions on the sale of alcohol in Rome the day before the game and on the day of the game and heavy fines are imposed for anyone caught defacing monuments or entering any fountains in the city.'

The club wishes you a safe trip.

Quite a few Englsih clubs have had serious problems with their fans.

Keep your wits about you on those streets that go over the bridges - they run out from the shadows, stab you in the buttocks and run off. And they don´t care who it is - they even go for the family man type supporter.

"It is born out of hypocrisy and fundamental insecurity. There have been two kids on the block for the past 12 years. Suddenly, there is a third and that one is threatening to be more successful than the others and they don’t like it." P Kenyon.
