Wouldn't It Be Nice,,,,,,?

COME ON CHELS!

So the 86 unbeaten home League record has gone, lets start it again, by beating Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on Saturday at 3pm. Our first 3pm at home and on a Saturday WOW!! First 'proper o'clock' kick-off at home all season.Sod TV this is way the football should be!!

Frank Lampard NEW FP 2

Wouldn't it be nice if Frank Lampard scores his 100th Premier League goal and wouldn't it be nice for Chelsea to score their 1,000th Premier League goal against Sunderland?

The unbeaten home run may have gone (although Chelsea hold the record), but there are more stats and figures for the 'anoraks' to enjoy.

Petr Cech is up for his 100th clean sheet, but he his a long way from 'The Cat's' record (Peter Bonetti) - 208 clean sheets in 729 games.

Cult Hero Juliano Belletti could make his 50th appearance in the Blue shirt and Super JT our wonderful and inspirational Captain is set to make his 350th appearance, just over 10 years to the day that he made his first-team debut as a fresh-faced 17year old.

JT's debut was in the Worthington Cup against Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge when Chelsea beat Villa 4-1 and Vialli scored a hat-trick.

Should JT score against Sunderland he will equal Peter Sillett's record of 34 goals as the top scoring defender in Chelsea history.

Chelsea have only taken 8 points from a possible 15 at home, whereas Chelsea are 100% away from home. 5 from 5, scoring 14 goals and conceding just the one.

Early team news is that Carvalho is out and will be for four weeks and despite Joey hobbling off in midweek, Big Phil has included him in the squad and Didier Drogba is returning and will take his seat on the subs bench.

Sunderland manager Roy Keane is an angry man and he has been since Sunderland lost in midweek.

He said, "If we perform like we did on Wednesday in terms of workrate and not passing and moving, then it could be a cricket score tomorrow.

"The expectations have gone up at this football club but I still don't think we've managed to get results in games when we haven't played too well. We need to have a very good performance and Chelsea have to have an off day.

"But I'm looking forward to tomorrow. It's what football is all about – testing yourself against the very best."

Keane was also angry at Liverpool by joking, "Liverpool denied us the chance to end that record!

"We have to believe we can go down there and get something. Chelsea have brilliant players and a brilliant manager. I said this at the start of the season and stick by it: I fancy them for the title this season.

"They have the quality and they've won it a couple of times recently so they know what it takes. But we have to go there and express ourselves.

"The disappointment on Wednesday at Stoke was that all the good things we did against Newcastle were wiped away by that defeat.

"If you don't pass and move then you are going to be in big trouble."

Kenwyne Jones, Sunderland

Kenwyne Jones is expected to start, Craig Gordon is still out and Sunderland will have to play an awful lot better at The Bridge than they in recent years - Chelsea victories to prove it:

1996/97 Chelsea won 6-2

1999/00 Chelsea won 4-0

2000/01 Sunderland won 4-2

2001/02 Chelsea won 4-0

2002/03 Chelsea won 3-0

2005/06 Chelsea won 2-0

2007/08 Chelsea won 2-0

The Man in the Middle is Martin Atkinson

..and Joe Cole and Drogba have travelled!

I imagine Drogba at least will start on the bench and maybe come on at 65mins - ditto Joe Cole - we have a tough away trip to Roma on Tuesday.

This should be a difficult fixture at first until we can score.

I´ve always liked the look of that Kenwyn Jones - reminds me so much of Drogba although for the moment he has just come back from injury so probably not 100% match sharp.
