GLEN JOHNSON - THE BEGINNING OF THE END?

On the 18th January, at B&Q in Dartford, Glen Johnson received an on-the-spot fine along with friend and Millwall striker, Ben May for putting a toilet seat in a cheaper package and trying to steal some taps.

No doubt, for someone who probably takes home in excess of 20 grand a week the motive wasn’t to save money – this was a stupid, “chavy” joke or prank I imagine.

What an idiot!  How is it a man with potentially the world at his feet does such a stupid thing?

I doubt that Glen Johnson would read this (although no doubt some players “surf” the net and see what’s said about them from time to time) but if you ever do read this Glen, this is what I’ve got to say on the matter:

Chelsea fans think you’re an idiot mate!  What was going through your head!  Most of us felt (and still feel) that you’ve got what it takes to be one of the best players in your position in Europe.  You didn’t do yourself any favours forgetting your passport before the Barcelona game and José shipped you off to Portsmouth.  In a recent interview you gave, it really came across that you were getting your head together and focusing on football again. You are putting in some good performances for Portsmouth and some of us fans (and no doubt some at the club) were thinking it would be a good idea to get you back in London where you belong – THEN YOU GO AND DO THIS!

You’ve got a choice, carry on with your chav mates and their chav jokes and effectively ruin your career – or shape up quick and get back on track.  Start by apologising to José – show him you mean business and are serious about football.

Of course, you’re a talented player so you’ll always get a game for someone – BUT the likes of the big teams won’t be interested.  Sort it out now or end up drinking down the old Kent, playing for a Coca-cola League 1 or 2 team, and giving it the big fish in a very small pond act.

You can be so much more – don’t waste your life away.
