In a hard fought match against the youth of Fulham at Cobham on Saturday the Academy continued their winning start to the season with a 3-1 win.

Goals from Miroslav Stoch, Fabio Ferreira and Harry Worley gave the Academy thier ninth straight victory in nine games.

The Academy took the lead on 17 minutes when Stoch cut inside the area from a fine Shaun Cummings pass and slotted the ball home at the near post. Fulahm equalised just before half-time from the penalty spot after Nana had committed a foul.

The Academy struggled for the opening 20 minutes of the second-half until coach Ruud Kaiser made a tactical switch bringing on Ferreira on the right-wing and switching Stoch to the left.

The move played instant dividends as Ferreira scored with his left foot to put the Academy 2-1 up. Seven minutes from time Ferreira supplied the cross for Harry Worley to head in, scoring his first goal of the season.

Coach Ruud Kaiser was pleased but critical of his young charges. He said, "We dominated the first 20, 25 minutes. Miroslav Stoch hit the post, and then scored after 17 minutes. Shaun Cummings hit a great diagonal ball which went over the full-back, Miroslav had a great first touch, cut inside and finished from just inside the area.

"After 1-0, if you don’t score you must make yourself difficult. The tempo went down and they came back. We mustn’t have a rest until we make the game more difficult for them. At 1-0 the opposition still believes in a good result."Academy: (4-2-1-3) Hamann; Ofori-Twumasi, Worley, Bridcutt (c), Elmer; Fernandes, Simmonds; Tejera (Hurrell 40); Stoch, Cummings (Nielsen 78), Saarelma (F Ferreira 65).

Sam Hurrell came on to replace Sergio Tejera after 40 minutes. Sergio sustained an injury to his knee.
