Mourinho and McCarthy to be Reunited at Ewood Park

Benni McCarthy and Jose Mourinho are reunited at Ewood Park this afternoon as the Champions look to bounce back from their midweek defeat at Middlesbrough.

McCarthy was a regular member of the Porto side, managed by Jose that won the Champions League, before Jose left to join Chelsea.

Chelsea have faced McCarthy before in the Champions League when Chelsea played Porto. McCarthy scored in both games and with McCarthy scoring in Blackburn's midweek 1-1 draw with Everton, he will be Blackburn's player to watch.

Expect Michael Ballack to return to the starting line-up after finally recovering from a hip injury received in the frizbee tournament. Robben should be back after pulling up in the warm-up at 'Boro and I hope that JM brings back Willie G to replace 'Rickity' Carvalho as Chelsea need to be so concrete in defence this afternoon against a tough and no-nonsense Rovers team.

Last season Rovers beat Chelsea 1-0 but prior to that there have been some excellent games between the two sides none more so than in 1998 when Chelsea won 4-3, with Tore Andre Flo as a late susbstitute scoring twice in the last five minutes giving Chelsea the victory.
