Ancelotti´s father, Giuseppe, passed away today

Reports are coming in of the very sad news of the death of Carlo Ancelortti´s father, Giuseppe today after battling against a diabetes related illness. Giuseppe reached the grand old age of 87 and passed away with Carlo at his bedside. The funeral is this Saturday.

I know that the thoughts and condolences of all Chelsea fans will be with Carlo at this time.

A club statement read:

"Everyone at Chelsea sends our deepest condolences to Carlo and his family. They are all in our thoughts at this time."

Ray Wilkins will take tomorrow’s press conference but Ancelotti will still attend and take charge of the squad for the Arsenal game.
