The Boss 'Anco' announced this afternoon that Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole will not travel to Slovakia tomorrow (Tuesday) to face MSK Zilina in the first group game of this season's 'Corrupt Cup' competition - the final to be held at Wembley next May - Don't hold your breath.
Chelsea's 'Corrupt Cup' adventure with match officials have always seemed to be OK in the Group stages as UEFA lull us into a false sense of security, but when it comes to the important stages of the competition, the fairness, the equality and the sportsmanship, the fairness just goes straight out the window.
Recent events to mention:
Last season in the San Siro v Inter Milan - Salomon Kalou, blatant penalty - not given
May 2009 v Barcelona at Stamford Bridge - FOUR penalties not given - say no more.
The good news is that JT travels with the squad after being withdrawn during the 3-1 win at West Ham last Saturday after receiving a knock to his ribs.
'Anco' said, "Frank needs some more time before he is ready to play, but he should be okay for the game on Sunday.
"John Terry trained today and he will travel."
About Ashley Cole, 'Anco' said, "He will also stay out of the game on Wednesday because I want to give him some rest. He played two games with the national team and he also played on Saturday.
"There is no problem, but it is better for him to rest."
