Chelsea have announced that terms have been agreed with Swansea City for the transfer of Scott Sinclair and it is expected the transfer will be finalised within the next 24 hours. I thought Scottie would be the 'next best' thing after watching him come through at Academy and Reserve level after his transfer from Bristol Rovers as a 15 year old.

Unfortunately his time at Chelsea came to early. The previous managers wouldn't risk younger players and Scottie would only play minor cameo roles.

His memory of playing for Chelsea to take to Swansea would be scoring for the Blues in the Carling Cup a couple of years ago against Hull City.

Scottie, once the transfer is complete, will be re-united with his old Reserve boss, Brendan Rodgers, who has recently taken charge at The Swans.

Donkey Cole is the only way I can describe Ashley's performance in the Community Shield on Sunday.

Slower than an old Donkey on Blackpool's Pleasure beach, Cole was found wanting for Utd's first and second goals.

Still apart from the result and a disastrous pre-season, only our kids and Michael Essien can hold their heads high, after their victory at Palace in July, the game itself was thoroughly enjoyable.

Both teams created chances, Utd took theirs. We didn't!!

SIMPLE

Pre-season is all about fitness, regaining sharpness, tactics, methods etc etc etc, but I have never known a pre-season like this for defeats.

Still with WBA the visitors to Stamford Bridge on Saturday, the real action begins and here is to THREE points.
