Disgraceful ungentlemanly 'spoilt little boy' act from France's out-going coach Raymond Domenech, who, at the end of France's defeat against South Africa in Group A refused to shake the hand of South African's coach Carlos Albert Parreira. France are going home and good riddance and I hope FIFA throw the book at Domenech for his 'unsporting' behaviour.

Yesterday's matches were the start of the 3rd round of Group matches - 4 games per day, two at 3pm and two at 7.30pm - 16 matches over the next four days in this remarkable festival of football.

South Africa needed beat France by at least four clear goals and hope that Mexico v Uruguay wouldn't end in a draw (a result that would have sent the conspiracy theorists into terminal overdrive) and South Africa raced into a two goal lead withing 37 minutes through Khumalo and Mphela.

Moments later, South Africa thought they scored a third goal but it was disallowed and South Africa hit the bar.

France's awful tournament got worse when Gourcuff was shown a straight red.

Florent Malouda pulled a goal back for the French and it is a shame that his talents will not go further in the competition.

Still, France 'cheated' to get to South Africa and as the saying goes "What goes around comes around."

Uruguay beat Mexico to win Group A with Suarez scoring the only goal to enable both countries to qualify for the last 16.

The ‘Hairy Hobbit’s’ Argentina beat Greece to qualify from Group B. Greece tactically set themselves up to fail and South Korea drew with Nigeria 2-2 and also qualify.
