First Ballack, Drogba and Now Mikel OUT of WC2010

COME ON ENGLAND

June 5 2010

With Michael Ballack and Didier Drogba's non-participation in the World Cup reducing Chelsea's player participation to 13, news is breaking that John Obi Mikel has been ruled out of the World Cup with a knee injury. Mikel injured his knee back in April and sources claim that he doesn't want to aggravate the injury, following recent surgery.

If you count Michael Essien into the equation, Chelsea Football Club could have had SIXTEEN players to look out for over the next four weeks.

More to follow as and when available.

So we are left with the following players to watch out for when the competition kicks-off next Friday, 11th June 2010.

England:

John Terry
Frank Lampard
Joe Cole
Ashley Cole

France:

Florent Malouda
Nicolas Anelka

Serbia:

Branislav Ivanovic

Slovakia:

Miroslav Stoch

Ivory Coast:

Salomon Kalou

Portugal:

Ricardo Carvalho
Paulo Ferreira
Deco

Total: 12

Who is next to fall by the wayside?
