PENALTY REF?!?!?

Chelsea entered the cauldrom of the rabid San Siro and were reunited with 'The Special One' for the first time in a competitive fixture since his acrimonious departure three years ago. The two teams had met already this season in a pre-season fixture in America which Chelsea won 2-0. But last night was different, so so different!!

After a shaky start which Chelsea conceded an early goal from Milito, Chelsea bounced back and had most of the possession, created a plethera of chances, and YET! YET! YET! again Chelsea were denied a clear cut penalty bang on half-time when Kalou was felled by Samuel.

No penalty, no red card and flashbacks to Wednesday 6th May 2009 against Barcelona began in earnest. What is it when in the Champions League knockout stages, Chelsea are simply DENIED clear cut penalties?!?!?

Didier Drogba went close on many occasions including a stunning 30 yard free-kick which crashed off Inter's bar and I swear that bar is still shaking now, the ball bounced down unfavourably and Inter were able to clear.

Salomon Kalou equalised six minutes into the second-half which gave Chelsea the away goal we thoroughly deserved and Chelsea looked set to go on a score a second.

Super Frank went close from six yards and Cesar's save (complete with two black eyes) was more by luck than judgement and again the ball fell unfavourably, with Kalou in close attendance.

Minutes later Inter's Cambiasso struck a fierce shot into the midriff of Ivanovic, the ball fell favourably Inter's way this time and Cambiasso returned the strike straight into the bottom corner of Cech's net, leaving the giant 'keeper rooted to the spot.

When the ball runs kindly, in this case Inter's, there isn't anything you can do about it.

Jose made his customary protecting the lead changes and Chelsea were unable to do anything about it.

The saddest sight of the night was Petr Cech crumbling to the floor after gathering and distributing a cross. He was stretchered off immediately and replaced by Hilario.

The prognosis of his injury didn't look good, but after the game 'Anco' said, "Cech had an injury on his calf and we have to wait, we have to control the next days. Now we can't say when he can return to the squad. It is not his knee, it is his calf."

I have no problem with Hilario taking his place, Hilario has never let us down, however he has got to sort his goal-kicks out!!!

So in three weeks time, The Special One returns to Stamford Bridge for the first time and although I am confident Chelsea can progress through to the last eight, remember Jose has never lost at Stamford Bridge!!

I was surprised you were beaten last night, I mean very surprised. But credit to Inter for hanging in their and getting the win, but that away goal is valuable.

And dont remind me of you lot being robbed against Barca, I felt we could of won the final against Chelsea (maybe over confidence but a 3-0 win 3 months earlier will do that), but we were beaten by a team who I felt cheated their way into it.

Credit to Platini for not wanting a United/Chelsea final two years in a row, he got his wish. Maybe next time we should hope he doesn't stick his nose into whats not his business. Yeah, he's the UEFA president but who the hell does he think he is doing that? Yep, it was the refs fault but I lay the blame squarely at his feet. Still gutted over that final.

I'll make up for this post by saying, I hope you lose this weekend and go on very long losing streak where half your team get suspended.

Dont remind you!!!.... we dont need reminding LOL, but last night and that penalty decision, brought it all back.

With our remaining league games to go, the only game I am worried about is against you at OT.

We get Inter at our place and with or without Jose, we will be good enough to get through. Stamford Bridge will be rocking.

And talking of injuries, your lot have had some bad news with Anderson being ruled out for the rest of the season with cruciate ligaments and he will miss the World Cup, plus Ferdinand is out with a back injury

I feel so sorry for Anderson, its a bad lose, and especially to miss the world cup at such a young age would be devastating for the kid. Hope Rio gets back soon enough, he's out of the CC Final and the International against Egypt. This is not what he need at the business end of the season.

The pen incident - still too amazed and p-ss-d off that it was not awarded. Corrupt Cup earns its name.

The annoying thing is that we could have won that match comfortably.

Still, if we score first at the Bridge...
