Everton 2-1 Chelsea: Ashley Cole OUT for Three Months

Dubai Bye Bye

In the space of a few hours since Chelsea's disappointing defeat at Goodison Park last night, John Terry has been given compassionate leave and has flown out to Dubai and WILL definitely miss the FA Cup tie against Cardiff City on Saturday and Chelsea has announced that Ashley Cole has fractured his ankle and will be OUT for three months.

For me it had to happen last night. JT having a nightmare, Chelsea conceding another goal from a set-piece - Everton beating us at Goodison Park for the first time in the Premiership since November 2000.

For the record, last night was their first victory over us in ANY competition in the same period.

Chelsea always seem to attract a nemesis - this season it was Everton's turn - the only team to take a point at Stamford Bridge and now three points at Goodison Park and Saha wreaking his revenge for spoiling his day at Wembley when he scored the fastest FA Cup Final goal.

Another record that went last night was every time Malouda has scored this season, Chelsea haven't lost and a BIG surprise was that Cechie Boy saved another penalty - Cechie just doesn't do penalties - his 2nd save this season.

The game started with Chelsea in control. Malouda gave Chelsea the lead, which galvanised Everton and they took control as they equalised, got the penalty, went in front, then Chelsea regained control and Didier not having one of his best games, hit the bar with a header.

Still Chelsea couldn't find an equaliser.

Goodison Park is a difficult place to go. It doesn't matter whether they are bottom, in the middle, or top of the table, they will always give any team a hard time - a hard time is exactly what Chelsea got.

What we didn't need was our Captain to have an 'off-night.'

Everton: Howard, Neville (c), Heitinga, Distin, Baines, Donovan, Osman, Arteta (Rodwell 74), Bilyaletdinov (Gosling 85), Cahill, Saha (Senderos 90+3)

Goals: Saha 34, 75
Booked: Donovan 64

Chelsea: Cech, Ivanovic, Carvalho, Terry (c), A Cole (Ballack 56), Lampard, Mikel (Sturridge 76), Zhirkov, Anelka (Kalou 66), Malouda, Drogba

Goal: Malouda 16
Booked: Mikel 62, Malouda 90+4

Everton fought very well - shame they don´t put in as much effort as they do against us as they do against other teams (at least it seems that way).

They played well - whilst we were disappointing. Our weakness was in midfield - we just didn´t seem to get hold of it like we normally do.

Still top though!
