Chelsea v Birmingham: Too Early for Didier and Kalou

COME ON CHELSEA

The good news is that Super Frank is fit to face a Birmingham City side who are still on their impressive unbeaten run. Lets face it Chelsea should have buried the Blues on Boxing Day, except for an extremely in-form Joe Hart who made a succession of wonderful saves. Juliano Belletti has been ruled out for a about four weeks after coming off early in the easy win over Preston on Saturday.

For the second game running and becoming a bit of a habit, the Boss has already named his starting line-up. Saturday saw six changes and tonight sees another six changes.

Cech, Ivanovic, Carvalho, Terry, A Cole, Ballack, Deco, Lampard, Joe Cole, Malouda, Anelka

I not too sure about the selection of Deco - until he dropped back into Belletti's position - when Belletti went off. Up to that point he was struggling, misplacing passes and mis-timing tackles.

'Anco' explained about Belletti's injury in his pre-match press conference. He said, "We have Belletti out, he did a scan yesterday and doesn't need surgery but needs to stay out for three or four weeks."

On the returning Didier and Kalou from the African Cup of Nations, 'Anco' said, "Drogba and Kalou will come back tomorrow morning and stay here to train tomorrow morning, and I think they don't have a problem, so they can be ready to play for Saturday......" AS PREDICTED HERE FIRST!!

'Anco' then praised Birmingham and anticipates a diffcult game. He said, "I think that will be important tomorrow to win, we need three more points and it will be difficult - everyone knows the quality of Birmingham.

"They have not lost for 15 games, they are having a fantastic, unbelievable season, and it's important for us to have a very good performance, the as against Sunderland we hope because we play a very compact team and it's important to move the ball quickly against them, they can stay compact for 90 minutes. This will be the difficulty of this game."
