Too Narrow

In his first programme notes 'Anco' said "This match is something totally new for me - I have had games against Manchester United before but with Hull, nothing. They are a new challenge, a new team and this is what I will enjoy about my first season in English football." Welcome to the Premiership 'Anco,' new challenges are afoot with Sunderland and Fulham on the horizon.

To be honest with you 'Anco' I didn't particularly enjoy yesterday's fare - despite the fact Chelsea could have been least 2-0 up inside the first ten minutes, Hull should have been down to ten men after a minute, when new signing Stephen (I crack heads) Hunt desperately tried to launch Super Frank's kneecap into orbit.

The 4-4-2 diamond doesn't look like it will work in Premiership. Hull's defence lapped up all of our attempts through the middle but when Chelsea finally got the ball wide on very few occasions, Hull City struggled.

Bossie sent in a great cross early, then he disappeared back beyond the half-way line, obviously worried that he may haemorrhage blood from his nose if he continued up field.

On the left,  Cole always seemed to appear in front of Malouda, rather than the other way round and for me, Chelsea were as narrow as a country path.

Just after the 4th official raised the board to show six minutes injury time and Brian Horton finished his rant at the said 4th official, I left my seat only because I was busting and I don't think my bladder could have held on for much longer.

Yep you know what's coming - I missed Did's winner and all of the associated celebrations - as I was doing you know what and I would do it again if it meant getting a late winner.

A win is a win playing well or not and Chelsea just didn't play well. Chelsea will have to improve significantly if they are to get a result at Sunderland on Tuesday night.

'Anco' was honest in his assessment of the game when he said, "For sure I was worried. But it is good that the team believes all the time they can score. We could have in this match after on minute and we scored a fantastic goal from Didier at the last minute.

"We lost a goal in the last minute against Man Utd and this is football. It is important for us to believe.

"The match was very difficult because we went behind but we didn't lose the idea to play and in the end we deserved to win."
