On Thursday Chelsea set off to America for a crammed packed whistle-stop of FOUR major American cities to play four games in the matter of eight days. First up is a friendly against MLS side Seattle Sounders on Saturday 18th July at the Qwest Stadium, also home of the Seattle Seahawks.

It is expected the game will be a 67,000 sell-out and according to major shareholder Joe Roth, 'this game will be unlike any international game ever played in the Pacific Northwest.

'Chelsea is one of the top clubs in the world, and they are playing the home team, our Sounders FC, backed by our loyal supporters. The atmosphere that afternoon will be incredible.'

Next up will be Inter Milan and Jose on Tuesday 21st July in the Rose Bowl, Pasedena California, the first of three matches in the inaugural World Football Challenge.

On Friday 24 July Chelsea travel to Baltimore to play Carlo's old club AC Milan and then finally on Sunday 26 July, Chelsea travel to Arlington, Texas to play Club America.

All four games will be shown live on Chelsea TV and there will be FULL LIVE updates on the message board.

When the tour and fixtures were announced in New York chief executive Peter Kenyon said, "We are delighted to be in the United States again for pre-season. This is our fifth pre-season out of six that we have toured here and it is always a pleasure to see our fans and train and play in excellent facilities in great cities.

"Chelsea, of course, will bring a full-strength first team squad and with the quality of the oppositon, and the backing of our partners, this series of matches will be the best preparation and the most high profile we have played in America."

I Still chelsea need to spend and that all signings should be on this trip to see who gels with who and how they perform
there is no point signing players during weeks of the season and think there is only one frendly when they get back against reading.

BUT STILL NEED MORE PLAYERS

The whole squad is going with the exception of Joe Cole, so we should see Sturridge, Turnbull and Zhirkov sometime during the tour.

"It is born out of hypocrisy and fundamental insecurity. There have been two kids on the block for the past 12 years. Suddenly, there is a third and that one is threatening to be more successful than the others and they don’t like it." P Kenyon.
