Very sad loss of a true Chelsea fan Rip Theo,say hello to ossie for me.

This man is the reason I am a Chelsea fan.
He was the biggest fan ever from Holland.
Terrible that Chelsea lost the Champions League final against Manchester United.
The last chance, but he saw Chelsea win the title in 2005 and 2006.
Theo I will never forget you !

We are going to win the Champions League Theo.
You was always my example, and now I am your successor.
KEEP THE BLUE FLAG FYING HIGH !!!

Blauw is mijn lievelingskleur , dat is het altijd al geweest.
Mijn liefde is altijd al voetbal geweest, en dan vooral het Engelse voetbal.
Het was zo heerlijk om lekker RTL 5 aan te zetten en dan lekker naar die club te kijken
in het blauw.
Die club waar ik tegenwoordig bezeten van ben.

Mijn vader is altijd een soort voorbeeld voor mij geweest in het voetbal, hij heeft mij veel geleerd
over het voetbal , en hij is al jaren lang mijn trainer.
Ook mijn vader had een voorbeeld , zijn naam was Theo de Wit een Chelsea fan in hart en nieren.
Theo de Wit was trainer bij DCS , waar hij heel veel voor die club heeft gedaan.
En hij maakte kennis met Chelsea toen Chelsea nog een divisie lager speelde.
Op een jeugdtoernooi van DCS waar ook Chelsea op speelde begon de liefde die nooit meer is weg gegaan.
Theo de Wit , een man die mijn vader bijna prof heeft gemaakt, een man die mijn vader mee naar Chelsea nam.
Een man die alles weggaf aan jongens , die jongens meenam naar Engeland , niet alleen voetbaltrainer was , maar ook een tweede vader voor ze was.
In mijn ‘’voetbalopvoeding’’ heb ik altijd veel verhalen over deze man gehoord van mijn vader.

En niet alleen hier in Nederland was hij voor veel mensen een bijzonder mens.
Ook in Engeland zelf was hij erg geliefd, ze noemden hem op Stamford Bridge ‘’the biggest fan from Holland’’.
Hij had een plek op de eretribune en ging ook vaak lunchen met de ex-voorzitter van Chelsea Ken Bates.
Ken Bates nam hem altijd heel serieus , Theo de Wit was bezeten van voetbal , hij wist er ongelofelijk veel vanaf.
Met de jaren ging ik meer tegen hem opkijken.
Ik weet het nog goed , die dag dat Chelsea werd overgenomen door Abramovich.
Ik en mijn vader liepen in de Albert Heijn en toen kwamen we Meneer de Wit tegen die over het nieuws vertelde.
Het was een onzekere situatie want niemand wist wat er nou precies met de club ging gebeuren.
Aan de ene kant wouden ze de top van het voetbal uitdagen, maar aan de andere kant werd de macht gegeven aan iemand waar niemand van wist wat hij met de club van plan was.
Uiteindelijk kwam het allemaal goed.

De jaren daarop ging ik Chelsea steeds meer volgen , ik zou liegen als ik zei dat ‘’the Blue Revolution’’ die werd ingezet daar niks mee te maken had.
In 2005 kreeg mijn broertje Koen van Meneer de Wit het Chelsea shirt van 2005 met lange mouwen uit de officiële fanshop, ik weet nog hoe jaloers ik toen was.
In dat jaar 2005 en het jaar daarop werd Chelsea twee keer kampioen , en dat was natuurlijk schitterend.
Maar toch kon niets tippen aan de Champions League , elke voetbal liefhebber weet wat ik bedoel.
De mooiste competitie die er is , waar je gewoon kippenvel van krijgt.
Chelsea was de afgelopen jaren het meest constante team in de Champions League maar elke keer zat het net niet mee.
Tegenwoordig heb ik ook al twee jaar een abonnement op Sport 1 en kijk ik elke wedstrijd van Chelsea waar dat mogelijk is.
Ik wil al jaren een keer naar London maar steeds kwam het er niet van.
Vorig jaar zouden we dan eindelijk misschien een keertje gaan , een bekerwedstrijd tegen de Queens Park Rangers maar helaas was Meneer de Wit toen al niet helemaal meer in een goede gezondheid.

Vorig jaar in Februari kwam Meneer de Wit te overlijden, de laatste keer dat ik hem sprak was de avond voor zijn overlijden.
Hij was toen heel erg verward en wazig , maar toen ik hem belde wist hij één ding wel , dat Chelsea uit tegen Watford moest spelen voor de FA Cup.
Ik vertelde hem de uitslag ( 1-3 winst ) en daarna heb ik hem dus nooit meer gesproken.

Toen in de kerk vertelde een vriend van hem een verhaal van vroeger.
Hij vertelde dat ze met z’n allen in het Chelsea hotel zaten ( wat aan het stadion zit ) en dat Meneer de Wit toen om een taxi vroeg.
Ze reden toen van het stadion weg en niemand snapte er wat van.
De taxi reed helemaal naar achter van de Chelsea supporters die uit de wijken kwamen.
Daarachter sloten ze zich aan in die groep , iets wat typisch Engels is.
Dit was voor de persoon die dit vertelde een hele bijzondere ervaring destijds.
Dit verhaal deed mij ook ontzettend veel toen ik dat hoorde.

Nu ongeveer een half jaar later denk ik haast elke dag nog wel aan hem.
Ik heb alle spullen die Meneer de Wit nog had van Chelsea gekregen naar zijn overlijden.
Alleen al vanwege dat zou ik de club nooit meer kunnen loslaten, uit respect naar hem toe.
Dit jaar ga ik eindelijk voor mijn verjaardag naar Chelsea toe.
Chelsea hoort inmiddels bij de beste teams ter wereld , maar ookal degraderen ze,
het zou voor altijd mijn club blijven , Meneer de Wit heeft Chelsea voor mij magisch gemaakt.

The white théo, a man who my father almost Prof has made, a man who go to my father took Chelsea. A man who give everything to boys, who take boys to England, not only football trainer was, but also a second Father before it was. In my voetbalopvoeding I have always been many stories about this man heard from my father.

And not only here in the Netherlands he was for many people particular people. Also in United Kingdom himself he had been a lot pleased, they called him on Stamford bridge `the biggest supporter from Holland''. He had a spot on the honorary platform and will also frequently have lunch with the former president of Chelsea knows Bates.

Only already because of that I the club never more am able release, from respect to him. This year I shut at last for my anniversary to Chelsea. Chelsea belong meanwhile to the best teams in the world, but ookal degrade them, it would remain for always my club, Mr the blank has made Chelsea for me magical.

Hello mate, It's two years ago that Theo de Wit passed away. So I was looking on this site and I saw the English translation of my story. I will correct it a bit for you. Sorry for the late reaction.
