Stop Throwing Your Toys Out of Your Pram, Utd!!

Next time Old Red Nose (SAF) kicks off about the authorities decision of players from other clubs, please someone tell him to keep his own players in check and remind them of the Respect campaign. The Ure threw the Respect Campaign straight out of their busted coach window at Stamford Bridge yesterday afternoon.

Seven bookings, an automatic £25,000 fine - can Man Ure afford it? After all, thanks to the Yanks they have more debts than Citeh!!!

Just imagine if Old Muvver Riley had given the penalty shout when Malouda was clattered by Van Der Saar, what would have SAF had said then.

Malouda Penalty

I thought it was a stone wall penalty and even seeing the TV when I got home from the game, I am even more convinced, Frankie should have been stepping up from the penalty spot.

Moments later Van Der Saar went off and was replaced by Tomasz Kuszczak

The way Man Ure conducted themselves at The Bridge you would have thought they had more problems the Chelsea. Well at the moment they have - still six points behind the Blues, seven points behind Woolwich and for the first twenty minutes the Ure looked liked they were gonna roll Chelsea over in the same area as Evra tried to roll-over our groundstaff last season.

It was Chelsea who had the early problems.

Scolari's game plan minutes before kick-off (got torn up) when Deco pulled up in the pre-match warm up with a muscle tear and is expected to be out for about two weeks, then before ten minutes clicked on the clock Ricky went off with a medial tear in his ligament and will be out for 4 weeks.

For the first twenty minutes the way Ure tore us apart I thought the home record was gonna go - NOW STANDS AT 85 MATCHES - when Park scored after Cechie spilled a Berbatov shot on eighteen minutes. Moments before, Cechie made a wonderful save by saving from Ferdinand from close range.

In a poor Chelsea first-half, Joe Cole missed a great opportunity to give Chelsea the lead but for no apparent reason his clear shot went spinning past Van Der Saar's near post, with Van Der Saar hopelessly beaten. Some fans in the MHL were convinced that the ball had hit the back of the net.

With Utd leading 1-0 at half-time, I seriously couldn't see how we were gonna win let alone equalise. Riley started the second-half with Chelsea having only ten players on the pitch and eventually Drogba came on. Anelka who has done well in pre-season and this season so far, was played as the target man, to which he cannot play and was unlucky as a sizzling Joe Cole cross went straight through his legs, when it would have been easier to score.

Joe Cole was the culprit again when he left the Ure defence standing and was one on one with Kuszczak, but Mr Kuszczak saved with ease after Cole shot weakly shot.

Chelsea's equaliser came from a Mikel free-kick, after the tempermental and obnoxious Rooney gave away another foul minutes after he was berated by Red Nose himself. Mikel floated the ball in and Kalou stole in to get a deserved Chelsea equaliser and another important goal in his Chelsea career.

Kalou Scores

The end of the game was as controversial as the start of the 2nd half. Ferdinand who had already been booked for early dissent, clattered into Drogba deep into injury time. It looked as if Riley had sent the defender off, when Ferdinand went storming to the touchline, Riley then signalled the end of the game. No sending off, no time for a free-kick, 1-1 was the final score.

Utd's Roll Call of Shame:

Neville - Booked

Ferdinand - Booked

Evra - Booked

Scholes - Booked

Rooney - Booked

Berbatov - Booked

Ronaldo - Booked

Imagine the following scenario:

Old Trafford, Man Utd v Chelsea

Chelsea receive 7 yellows - 5 for dissent.

Man Utd have a penalty turned down.

One of our players gets caught out with one of the most blatant dives you can imagine and gets a free-kick, preventing Man Utd from mounting an attack from a very advantageous position.(and MOTD don´t even show the incident!).

With 38 seconds still to play in injury time, Berbatov goes up for a ball and gets fouled by Alex for a free-kick on the edge of the box - Alex ALREADY has a yellow and will be sent off BUT the referee, instead of sending off Alex and giving Man Utd the free-kick on the edge of the box, BOTTLES it and blows for full-time.

Alex has already decided to storm off, mouthing obscenities and Scolari marches onto the pitch.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Can´t imagine it? No, neither can I!

The media, the FA and oppo fans would all be foaming at the mouth and mount some form of campaign to deduct us points at the very least, newspaper hacks would write countless articles and blogs on the evil Chelsea and Sky would show incidents on loop tape. The hyprocrosiy is TRULY BREATHTAKING.

Anyway, rant over...

We looked very disorganised and untidy for the first 15-20 mins and Man Utd looked the better side. There were speaces opening up everywhere and there was a point when both sides appeared to be like school teams, chasing the ball in bunches.

Once they scored, we looked much better (typical Chelsea!) and seemed to have reorganised with the unforseeable withdrawals of Deco and Carvalho. VERY impressive the way we dominated the game from then onwards after they went ahead.

Ashely Cole looked excellent and looks to be following on from last season in which he was first class - the old Ashley Cole is back.

Alex was also excellent and Mikel seems to be demonstrating that he is maturing with every match.

Dissappointed with Joe Cole - he´s lost his shooting boots and has got a bit selfish again (should have squared to Anelka who would have had an open goal for a chance in the 2nd half).

IF they kicked off, why did we kick towards the MH stand in the first half?

Drogba isn´t 100% nor is Ballack.

We probably deserved to win it in the end - oh well...

didnt read most of that but I also thought that was penalty. I've seen it 10 times and seriously any contact with the ball could only have been by the bottom sleeve of Edwins Jersey brushing over it as he clattered into malouda. In any case not complaining. We dont get all the pennos we deserve, its only fair we get the rub of the green sometimes.

I dont think we are particularly dangerous tacklers or rough and dirty compared to the average prem team. Some of the bookings were quite simply farcical. As long as this is consistently displayed by all refs in all matches (bringing an opponent to the ground, dirty looks, talking back, complaining, ...hell opening your mouth) then its fair. Otherwise we are merely victims of one trigger happy ref tying to set an example and then totally lost the plot. i dont blame rio, drogbas antics leave me foaming at the mouth. And before you mention Ronaldo, agreed. so does his.

Rant over.

Don´t get me wrong Redlyn - all teams have their divers and tough tacklers but I just find that there appear to be a different set of rules when it comes to media treatment etc when it comes to Chelsea.

The ref was very poor - and I stand by what I said in my comments - if it was the other way round with Chelsea at Old Trafford we would NEVER have got away with it.
