France Football magazine is reporting that Frank Lampard has signed a 4 year contract for Mourinho´s Inter worth 7.3M euros a season. The fee is supposed to be in the region of 9M euros due to the short term left on his contract. Unfortunately, “France Football” doesn’t get it wrong very often.
Lampard´s agents will have to come sharply out the blocks in the media to deny this story – if nothing is said tonight then it looks ominous.
Lampard has repeated how much he wants to stay at Chelsea and this was last confirmed shortly after the death of his mother - and Kenyon has said over and over how much the club wants to keep him.
Contract negotiations are/were set to take place after the player returns from holiday – which he has now done.

The rumours are that Lampard wants a 4 year deal with a salary increase but more importantly with a substantial increase in his image rights payments – the club is prepared to do a 2 year deal only.
You would have thought that with such an important player, the club would be prepared to meet Lampard in the middle (a 3 year deal) and likewise, with the players love for the club, he would also be prepared to compromise – let’s see if there’s still time for that to happen.
