Everton Away Is COMPLETELY FREE!!

I have been on a few Chelsea away days this season when Chelsea Football Club has 'subsidised' travel either by coach or train. Today Chelsea Football Club has surpassed their previous generosity by announcing that travel to Everton on THURSDAY 17th APRIL is FREE and entrance to Goodison Park is FREE.

The reason behind this gift to the fans is that between the Premier League and their benefactors,  Sky Sports, Chelsea has been forced to play at Goodison Park three days after they play Wigan at Stamford Bridge on Monday 14th April and in front of Setanta Sports cameras.

For Chelsea's 'trouble and inconvenience', Chelsea will receive £460,000 from Sky for playing their reluctant part on the night and to help guarantee support, Chelsea FC will pay for every fan to attend the Everton game on THURSDAY 17th APRIL by laying on FREE travel and FREE entrance to Goodison Park on the night.

What a great carve-up by Sky Sports.

On Wednesday 16th April Sky will be showing the 2nd leg of the FA Youth Cup - Chelsea against Man City, the 1st leg which finished tonight level at 1-1, then the next night Sky will have Chelsea's first team in action at Goodison!!

A nice gesture BUT many have returned their tickets either in disgust or simply because, as they had already made arrangements for travel and stay (money now lost) or bacuase they can´t change days booked off. I doubt the allocation will be taken now.

Add to that that this fixture change could well cost is the league anyway.

I applaud the club for at least trying to help put things right.

Why do your lot expect your allocation to be sold out by offering free travel?

You cant fill your stadium even when offered free tickets!

Simon Greenberg, Director of Communications said on Chelsea TV tonight that Chelsea HAVE to play at Everton on 17th April - THURSDAY!!

What he also said that Chelsea FC will look at next season's fixture list and they are looking to provide more FREE travel, especially for more away TV games!!

Shame other clubs don't follow the same example!!!

800 away for a CL to Stuttgart!!!!

800 for a semi final away to Wigan!!!!

120 away for a CL to Zagreb!!!!!!

Left in droves with 25mins because you were losing to Spurs -what a bunch of glory hunters!

Left in droves and with leaving a 2/3 stradium because you were losing to PSV - what a bunch of glory hunters!

Thems the facts - deal with it.

You are a hypocrite mate.
