Here you go for a major rant!! Firstly lets get the jokes out of the way. An 'Early Day Motion, ' I thought was something to do with a 'Safeway's,' you know 'Lightening the Load,' but it seems to me that a Labour MP who insitigated this 'Motion' is talking a load of **** of another kind!

It just goes to show how close the Houses of Parliament are to their Summer holidays, and how Labour MPs are protecting and deflecting criticism from their beloved Leader, Tony Blair and have nothing better to do, than to take their £100,000 per year fat salaries, plus expenditure for running their private offices at our expense.

Yes!! Us the taxpayer, (unless of course you are a tax dodger or a student of some description, sorry).

A certain Labour MP Jim Devine, laid the 'motion' criticising Chelsea Football Club for charging Celtic fans £40 per ticket for the up coming friendly between the Scottish Champions and the Premiership Champions (Back 2 Back) at Stamford Bridge on August 9th.

Also allegedly he had the backing of 42 fellow MPs to his 'motion.'

Now what makes this 'motion' even more interesting is that neither Mr Devine nor his fellow backers have anything to do with the cities involved, London or Glasgow.

Now if the 'Right Honourable Fellow,' had researched this subject before 'laying his motion' he would have discovered that the ticket prices have already been agreed with Celtic FC, that there are concessions at £20 per ticket, that (at the time of writing) there have been NO complaints from Celtic FC supporters either to Celtic FC or Chelsea FC and that for the past TWO seasons, Chelsea Football Club have held EIGHT fans forums which have proved successful to the point that for the SECOND season on the bounce, prices have remained at the same level and that Chelsea Football Club are aware of fans concern to ticket prices.

Why do you think that for Carling Cup and FA Cup home games prices were set at £25, plus concessions for ALL areas. and why do you think that these prices were so successful and sold out for home games?

According to one report, Devine's motion was to have included the following words, 'The pricing policy of the Premiership champions is further evidence families are being priced out of top-class football and it reinforced the need for fans' representatives to be elected to the boards of clubs.'

Errr, I think you should shove your head down the 'Early Motion' system Devine, then sack your staff for their poor research, close your office and save us all a few quid, especially as you know considering the 'Highland' area get more than their fair share of 'free' cash!!!

Now Chelsea Football Club have said that they HAVE NOT received one complaint for Celtic fans regarding prices for the game. If you are a Celtic Supporter and have a complaint (an honest one at that)! just post to the message board and let us know and EVERY complaint will be forwarded to Chelsea FC in due course.

Now I do not expect ONE complaint. Cos we all know that Scottish Football fans are as passionate as anybody, and when there is a game they will travel in their thousands, Over Land and Sea, if you excuse the pun, especially when it comes to Celtic and their arch rivals Rangers.

I remember back in the late 70s early 80s, Rangers came to town for a testimonial and brought 10,000 (the old North Stand was solid with Rangers Blue and White) with them and that was on a Friday night. Knowing Celtic when they come on August 9th, they will make sure its a five day weekend!!
