The Ladies recent league game at home to Sunderland Ladies was postponed which was probably just as well after the severe beating by Arsenal Ladies a week previous.

The Ladies next game was in the 2nd Round of the Surrey Cup where they travelled to Tooting and Mitcham FC to play Merton Ladies. After their demolition of Croydon Athletic in the previous round, the Ladies were concerned about the unknown quantity of their next round opponents.

At half-time in the match all doubts of a Merton Ladies challenge were removed as Chelsea strolled to a 5-0 lead. The second half got better as the Ladies scored another eight, with Ellen White achieving a personal tally of five.

The other Chelsea scorers were; Delves (2), Perry (2) the exotically named de la Salle, Thornton, Hawkins and a Merton own goal completing the scoring. Chelsea Ladies 3rd Round opponents will be the winners of Croydon Postal Ladies and Milford and Witley Ladies. Chelsea will be away and the game is scheduled to be played on Sunday 15th January 2006.

The Ladies next action is in the Women's FA Cup with an away tie and Blackburn Rovers, Sunday January 8th.

Chelsea Ladies are currently second from bottom in the National League Premier Division with nine points from fifteen games.
