Chelsea Return to League Action

Carling Cup winners Chelsea return to Premiership action at struggling Norwich City. Norwich City marooned at the bottom of the table have already been beaten at home this week by Man City 3-2, after City, Man that is, came back from being two goals down.

As this match doesn't kick off until 5.15pm our lead at the top of the Premiership could be cut to just three points as Man Utd take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park a couple of hours earlier.

I fully expect Chelsea to leave Carrow Road with three points in the bag and immediately start to focus on the Barcelona game and how we are going to retrieve the one goal difference and go on and win the tie.

I don't expect and I hope she doesn't, Delia Smith that is, reproduce her stunningly embarrassing cry of the twelfth man that she performed at half-time during the Man City game. Fair play to her though, after all it is her club, she is the one that has pumped millions of her own money and turned the club around into a one season Premiership team. But Delia - did you feel a little sheepish in the cold light of day when you woke up on Tuesday morning? Good grief girl!!

Back in December Chelsea went nap and romped home 4-0 with goals from Lampard, Duff, Drogba and Robben. A similar scoreline today?? Chelsea proved last week in the Carling Cup final that they can score goals without the influential presence of Arjen Robben. Albeit the goals originated from a throw-in and two free-kicks but goals are goals no matter how they are scored.

Petr Cech looks to keep another clean sheet today and edge ever closer to the British record. Get that record and like Chelsea, aiming for world domination, move on to the world record of minutes without conceding a goal.

I can't quite work out if DD's comments this week about the title already being Chelsea's and SAFs immediate reaction saying that Man Utd will make DD eat his words, is true, false or just complete and utter mischief making by the press. All season Chelsea have never publicly spoken about the title. All the chat and gossip has been played down by our beloved JM and Stevie Clarke and all they do is just concentrate on the work needed before each game whether it be Champions League, Domestic Cups or the League. If the remarks made by DD are true, JM will certainly take him to task.

Probable team:

Cech, Johnson, Terry, Carvalho, Ferreira, Makelele, Duff, Lampard, Tiago, Cole, Gudjohnsen

For those unable to make the trip to carrot crunching country, the game is live on PPV with a 5.15pm kickoff.
