The rain is a pouring, the wind is a howling. Two more ingredients added to the melting pot of an already highly charged occasion at Stamford Bridge this afternoon. More points dropped yesterday by our rivals including the Bar Codes astonishing battering at the JJB, leaving that Champions League door still ajar.

Only six points will do in the next four days if Chelsea are to keep in contention for the much coveted fourth place spot.

Hopefully the players are well rested from their wonderful, sensational performance at the Nou Camp on Tuesday night, an evening that will long live in the memory of this old boy, easily erasing the  memories of what happened three years before.

Chelsea’s defensive crisis is well documented.

Ivanovic continues his suspension, Cahill and Luiz are still injured so there is a possibility that Jose Bosingwa, who was surprisingly brilliant at centre-back alongside Ivanovic  in the Nou Camp on Tuesday night, could start next to ‘One England Captain’ John Terry or Bobby Di could turn to the consummate professional in Paulo Ferreira to answer the SOS.
