Bolton Preview: Sky Wreckers

COME ON CHELSEA

When the fixture list first came out, the first fixture I looked for was Bolton away and immediately plans were pencilled in to make this game a definite 100% away-day. Early start, brekkie en route, go to the game, dinner after with a possible overnight stop, lunch the next day before travelling back home.

The Reebok is a happy hunting ground for Chelsea. Title won in 2005, title almost confirmed in 2006, a rare Deco first-half goal in a 2-0 win and a sublime Drogba beauty in last season's 4-0 win.

But then came along the cartel that is Sky.

Moneybags TV waving their wad around, forcing Bolton and Chelsea to kick-off at 8pm on a cold, damp, drizzly Monday night and affecting the plans of many a Blue 'faithful' who would have turned out in force if the date had not been changed.

Me included!!

The attraction of travelling 200 miles each way waned so much that Chelsea Football Club was forced to cancel the 'almost freebie' train for lack of bums on seats.

How many more times are our fans expected to take off two more days from work when they have probably taken off too many already and they have got to do it again, when we travel to Sunderland next week?

Then last week Sky wade in again, changing Chelsea's visit to Blackpool to Monday 7 March at 8pm (another game bites the dust) and Money Citeh to Sunday 20 March at 4pm (at least the game is at the Bridge) and to add more travel misery for fans, ITV decide to show Chelsea's 4th Round FA Cup tie away to Everton AT 12.30pm this coming Saturday.

Three successive away-days for the travelling Chelsea fans of which two of them are a TOTAL inconvenience caused by the throwaway moneybags called television.

To continue the bad news theme, Super Frank hasn't travelled with the squad for tonight's must win clash, but he is expected to return against Everton on Saturday.

John Terry, Legend, Leader and Inspirational Captain is fit and will lead the side out at the Reebok.
