90 minutes to end this hellish season
By Nathan Jackson May 2 2008
City fans will be extremely glad to see the back of the 2007/8 season, it's been a season of very few good memories and it almost feel like a good thing that it'll be 3 months before more of this. City can infact finish in the top half of the table, it would be a fairly decent achievement considering how rubbish we were for the first 6 months of the season.

I can't recall wanting a season to end so badly in my life. Usually we've had bad seasons but it those seasons have offered many good memories. The first win at Mansfield, Jackson being appointed and Dodds' stunner against Wycombe Wanderers, some of the very few good memories that this season will have to offer.

Thankfully we'll have over three months before the next competitive game, that should be enough time for us all to become disillusioned enough to believe that the 2007/8 season wasn't as bad as it seemed.

Our final game of the 2007/8 season will see Wrexham come to Sincil Bank. Wrexham are one of the few sides that will take fewer happier memories out of this game than Lincoln fans will. Our guide to their stats this season showed exactly why they have gone down. It seems almost crazy to think that City fans were debating at one point that we should have employed Brian Little rather than Jackson.

City willl be hoping to avoid a repeat of the meeting between the sides last season. A City side "chasing" promotion were beaten 3-0 by a Wrexham side that had been in the relegation battle nearly all season long. It was arguably the worst performance of last season.

Lincoln's side is likely to have several players wearing the red and white for the final time. Adie Moses could have easily played his last game for the Imps having limped off in the win at Morecambe. He is the only regular defender missing and the back 4 will probably be Lee Ridley, Danny Hone and Paul Green playing in front of Ayden Duffy.

Pembleton is missing through injury in the midfield and he will be replaced by either Scott Kerr or Shane Clarke. Other than that it should be the same midfield that played against Morecambe. Dodds will play his final game for the Imps before returning to Leicester City and he will more than likely be in the midfield with Freck and King.

Wright and Forrester will both hope to claim the Golden Boot award. Both are on 14 goals for the season and it's winner takes all in the final game.
