Will life be a beach for the Imps?
By Nathan Jackson April 23 2008
Lincoln City's final and longest away game of the season will be against Morecambe. Both will be looking for a morale boosting win ahead of the summer. It's just a pity that Steff Wright's planed promotion party on Morecambe beach was never meant to be, but at least a difficult season is finally coming to an end.

Steff Wright was hoping that this coming weekend was going to be one where we could celebrate promotion to League One on Morecambe beach. However, 9 disappointing months later and we're now stuck with the reality that this game will be repeated next season.

It's been a strange season on the road from Sincil Bank. It seems almost ironic that our final away game is the longest we'll make this season whereas the first league away game was the shortest we could have made. If the Imps do win this game then it will be the 9th time we've won on the road this season, not a bad record considering we've been rubbish most of the season.

Last Saturday's victory against Brentford was one of the most comfortable victories we've had in a while and it was our third win in five games. Unfortunately it's come too late in the season and the best we can hope for now is a top half finish. That wouldn't be too bad of a finish considering we've spent the vast majority of the season in the bottom half of the table, it seems almost an eternity way since we went fourth in the League.

Scott Kerr returns to action for City following a four game suspension. His inclusion in the side is anyone's guess. It could be a case that he is given a rest for the remainder of the season so he is even fresher for next season. Alan Marriott, LJL and Shane Clarke are still extremely likely to miss out through injury, but other than that there are no other injury worries. N'Guessan misses out through suspension.

It is likely that it will be the same starting line up that beat Brentford last week. That would mean Duffy in goal with Green, Beevers, Hone and Croft in the defence. Freck, Dodds, King and Pembleton will more than likely form the midfield whereas Mark Stallard will hope a hatrick for the reserves will see him play some part. However, it is unlikely Iffy will switch from Wright and Forrester.
