One of my favourite trips of last season was the trip to Morecambe's Christie Park. It was far better than I was expecting and I certainly hope I get the chance to visit it again this coming season. It may not be the best ground in the world, it doesn't even have backs to the seats, but there's just something about it that I really like.
The away end is split into two sections. One is the seated area that costs an extra £1 to get into, but it's definitely worth it as you get a far better view of the action. The terrace doesn't. I didn't watch the game from there but you have to walk through it to get to the seated section.
Speaking of which, as nice as the Morecambe folk are, they do appear to be as thick as pig-faeces. You ask them a simple question and they just seem to go off into their own little world. I'll give you an example. I wanted to sit in the seated section last season and asked where the entrance to the seated bit was...here is the conversation that followed...
ME : "Hello, I was curious about which turnstile I would need to go in to get into the away seating?" (I thought this was a pretty simple question)
BLOKE WHO WORKED FOR MORECAMBE : "Away fans are in the terrace and the far end of the seated section."
ME : "Excellent, which turnstiles do I need to go in to get to the seated section as none of them say away seating?"
BLOKE : "You are in the final block of the seating."
ME : "I know, but how do I get there?"
BLOKE : "You see the seated stand, you're at the far end!"
This continued for about another minute or two before I gave up and went in search of someone who was actually more useful that a parachute with several holes in it. I don't know why I bother sometimes.
There is a bar at the ground called JB's, but I am still unawre if this pub allows away fans in. There is another pub under construction at the ground, this will more than likely admit away fans once it is completed. There are several other pubs spotted around the area but the York Hotel on Lancaster Road has been recommened as the best out of the rest.
Exit the M6 at junction 34, then take the A683 towards Lancaster and take the A589 towards Morecambe. Go Pass a McDonalds and take the left on the roundabout afterwards. The ground is down here on the left. There is a car park behind the Umbro Stand but it isn't exactly big, so street parking is an alternative option.
As for trains, please note that there are no trains back after the game that would get you back to Lincoln on the same day. Only 3 trains give you a chance to get there a good time before kick off without having to worry about hurry.

On the 3 change journey get the Northern Rail service to Sheffield. From there get the Central Trains service to Liverpool Lime Street and get off at Manchester Oxford Road. From there get the Transpennine Express to Lancaster (heads to Windermere) and from there get the Northern Rail service to Morecambe.
On the 2 change journey, head to Newark and then catch the GNER service to Leeds, from there simply catch the Northern Rail service to Morecambe. If the lack of a train back on the same day, the tickets cost £57.80. Might be one for the car.
If you do decide to go via train, turn right out of the stationgoing straight down Central Drive and then alongside Euston Road. Lancaster Drive is just down the other end of Euston Road and the ground is on your left.
If you're going for the weekend, then I would recommend staying in Blackpool and at the Meland Hotel. It's a short walk from the beach, Blackpool FC and the town centre. It was a pleasent and humble hotel, to make your reservation, please visit their website
