Where do you think you're going? Dagenham
By Nathan Jackson May 31 2007
Lincoln gets will get the joy of visiting Dagenham and Redbridge's London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Stadium during the night this coming season. Hopefully the darkness will hide what is otherwise a pretty miserable place to visit in the League.

City will make their second ever league visit to the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Stadium during the 2008/9 season to play the former Conference Champions. Last season's visit was our first ever League visit to LBBDS and this season sees our first night visit to theg round.

Dagenham were rated as one of the best clubs in the Conference for generating atmosphere but that certainly wasn't the case when the Imps went there last season. Other than the occasional "WE HATE BOSTON MORE THAN YOU!" chant, there wasn't a lot of noise coming from the home ends. Even their winning goal seemed to be greeted with virtually no recognition at all.

It felt strange going to a game at this stadium as it felt more like being at a pre-season friendly than a League game. It's just hard to put into words really, but I certainly won't be foaming at the mouth when it comes to this away game again. I would recommend the seating as there is an excellent view from this area, although you do have the odd pillar or two in your way.

Dagenham fans seem pretty friendly, the fact none of their home fans taunted City fans in the ground when the winning goal in says it all. However, they do have a MMMAAAJJOOORRR chip on their shoulder. If you don't suggest they were were the best team on the day, despite the fact the majority of the game was spent in their half, then you'll have the entire attendance of Dagenham on your back.

There is a social club at the ground which allows in away fans for £1. There are also 3 pubs within a short distance of the ground.

Getting there via car is a bit of trek once inside Dagenham. Leave the M25 at Junction 27 and take the M11. At the end of the M11 continue onto the A406 towards the A13. At the intersection with the A13, turn onto this road towards Dagenham Tunnel. When you see a cinema on the left, leave the A13 and join the A1306. Keep going until you see a McDonalds and turn left after this onto Ballards Road. At the  large roundabout, take the first exit into Rainham Road. Continue up this road to get to the ground.

Various websites note that there is parking at the ground, please ignore this because you have to be on the list to be able to get into that car park. It's street parking after that and it is hard to find a decent spot within walking distance.

Due to this being a night match, I have not included train times.
