Wenger's team have jumped the queue mainly because Manchester United have pulled out of the race to sign Spurs' most pricest assett as they already spend over £50million this summer.
Arsenal are reported to have tabled a £25million offer plus Gilberto Silva and Emmanuel Adebayor. Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy's reluctance to sell their star striker seem to have cooled and a deal could be struck early next week.
This news will come as a shock for most Spurs' fans but with the Darren Bent transfer almost dusted and done it looks like Tottenham will have a quality forward line again next season.
