Michalík has represented his country at full international level and has previously played for Čadca in Slovakia. Sam Allardyce is known for spotting good talents for his defence and Ľubomír Michalík joins a long list of Sam's defensive bargains at Bolton (N Gotty, Jaidi, Meite, Faye, Campo etc).

Dennis Wise could not have sought a better man to take help from for his problems at the back this season. Leeds United has the worst defensive record in the football league. Even though Wise has brushed off the cobwebs on his defence temporarily (Leeds have lost only by 1 goal since January 1st), the main problem lies deep rooted. The Leeds manager would be looking to Michalik to help Marques at the back and form a solid partnership with him. The Slovak is expected to go straight into the squad for the crucial game versus Luton this Saturday and he would most probably replace Matt Heath in the line-up.
