Barnet to finish 9th is probably my most shocking prediction this summer. The men from Underhill often spend most of their time during the season down at the bottom, but I think this could finally be a good season for Barnet and that's because of one player, Albert Adomah.
WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING?
I'm going to surprise you ever more by saying that I was originally going to predict Barnet to finish in the top seven. I though that Jason Puncheon and Albert Adomah are two of the most under-rated players in the division and the two together could have spearheaded a shock run into the Playoffs. However, Puncheon has now been sold to Plymouth Argyle and I think this could cost the Bees a shot in the end of season lottery.
I think Barnet are a good team and are often one that are underlooked when people talk about dark-horses. City found out in March what Barnet are capable of on their day, they ripped the Imps to pieces that day with a neat attacking style of play. The main question is can Barnet produce that on a consistent basis and I think that they can.
They're still one of the dirtiest sides in the division, you'd be hard push to find a game involving Barnet where at least one player from the opposition wasn't down for about 2/3 minutes with an injury.
However, despite being dirtier than girls in Ibiza after two bicardi-breezers, I think Barnet have a decent shot of a good season. They will need to consistently put in the types of performances that they did against City, not an impossible task given that they had fairly decent home form towards the end of last season. Their away form could do with a bit of improving but 16 wins throughout the season shows that the club are certainly on the verge of turning into a half-decent side
