20th : Off the field woes are crippling Rotherham
By Nathan Jackson July 17 2008
Rotherham United are really starting to suffer due to their off the field problems. The Millers do actually have a decent squad but there are are too many problems away from the pitch to create a happy season for Rotherham United. It's just a case of yet another club who seem to be suffering at the hands of the Football League's "Feed the rich and screw the poor" attitude.

WHO ARE ROTHERHAM UNITED?

WHO IS MARK ROBINS?

LAST SEASON'S VIDEO

WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING?

Rotherham United one of the clubs who are in the select group the the Football League like to call the "They're skint so let's screw them over" group. At the time of writting, Rotherham United haven't been deducted any points but it seems only a matter of time before that happens, but I still think they can easily avoid relegated.

The reason for this is that the Millers do actually have a half decent squad. They have a squad that are capable of changing games and that statement might confuse you as to why I am predicting them to finish so low. My prediction has nothing to do with a potential points deduction but rather than the whole club is on a bit of a downer at the minute.

They've had to move from Millmoor into a stadium that wasn't designed for football and the atmosphere will certainly suffer. From my understanding of the placement of fans, all of the Rotherham fans are in one stand and the away fans are near enough opposite this. This will create a terrible atmosphere and this will certainly hinder the chances that Rotherham have.

I think that the midtable will be extremely tight this season, and despite my prediction of 20th, I feel that Rotherham United will comfortably avoid relegation, even if they do end up having that points deduction. I believe that Chester, Dagenham and Accrington are pure dross and this will mean that virtually no-one else will stand a realistic chance of going down.

This season is all about consolidation for Rotherham United. I think the off-the-field problems will certainly take their toll on-the-pitch, but they should still be able to create decent foundations for the 2009/10 season.

I thought Rotherham had a 15 point deduction?

Funnily enough, I think they might get a certain advantage from playing at Death Valley as the pitch will be tiny and that is certainly something that the rugby side have always used to their advantage.

Absolutely massive ground, easy to get to and good facilities but the atmosphere was dire when I went there for a Sheffield-Leigh rugby game with both sets of fans in the main stand, so god only knows how bad it would be when any banter is 150 yards away!

I'm pretty certain that they don't have a deduction yet. Luton Town are the only side who have officially been deducted points (at the current time).

I can't say I've ever been to Don Valley, I'm preparing to take my binoculars.

I have been past it on the tram!! Looks a good stadium.

Ok so I was right about your choice of Chester for 21st.

My guess is for 19th spot you will go for...

Bury!

Am I right this time?
