ADMISSION FOR THE AWAY ENDS
ADULTS £15 (£17 SEATING), CONCESSIONS £9 (£12), KIDS £5 (£11)Lincoln City will hoping for their first win at Saltergate since the 2000/1 season during the 2008/9 season and it is one of the Imps' many local derbies in this season.
Games between the Imps and Chesterfield have seen one of the teams score four goals in four of the last five meetings. City beat the Spirites 4-1 in the LDV Northern Semi Final in 2000/1 before winning 2-1 at Saltergate in the League a few days later. Another encounter in the LDV Trophy came in 2003/4, the Imps coming out 4-3 winners. However, City lost 4-2 and 4-1 last season, the Spirites scoring more goals against us than any other side.
The atmosphere around the ground is pretty non-existent. I've only been there twice and have yet to hear a major any level of singing in either visit. This is quite surprising as grounds that are falling apart tend to have good atmosphere. It's also quite hard to create an atmosphere in the away end because it's a terrace, but not only is it a terrace, it's a terrace with no roof.
Around the ground the Chesterfield fans were quite friendly, although none of them seemed to know where their portacabin club shop was. They didn't seem to mind when Ian shouted about me and him being Lincoln fans, but that might be the reason they decided to mis-direct us to the club shop.
To get to Saltergate via car, leave the M1 at Junction 29 and take the A617 towards Chesterfield. On reaching the edge of the town centre go straight across the first roundabout, you'll know you're heading the wrong way if you're heading past the crooked spire (you'll know it when you see it). As the road divides, keep to your left, going around an open car park. From here you will be able to see the ground. Please note that parking specifically at the ground is very limited.
For all you sexually-depraived gentleman out there, there is a bar that has barmaids wearing very little nearby and that pub is called the Barley Mow. "The County" is another good one for away fans, but other than that the selection is quite limited if you're an away supporter.

Trains back are also fairly regular, giving yourself plenty of chance to get back. The first is at 17:05 so that’s probably an unrealistic one to aim for. An hour after that though will see you back in Lincoln by about 20:38. The final train that will get you back on the same day leaves Chesterfield at 20:05.
