Hartlepool United have made another loan signing: this time it's striker Jon-Paul Pittman. The 19 year old joins on a month long loan from Division 2 rivals Nottingham Forest.
Pittman's arrival gives Pools another much-needed option up front, but as with our other loan signings recently it wouldn't be fair to load him with the expectation of being the answer to all our problems.
The 19 year old has come through the ranks at the City Ground, and came to Martin Scott's attention during our recent Reserve Team encounter. He's played plenty of reserve games for Forest, but his first-team experience has been limited to a couple of substitute appearances. Information on him is fairly scarce, but the official site describes him as "powerful".
He has been signed in time to go into the squad for the game with Tranmere, although I'd be very surprised if he was to start having had so little time to get acquainted with his new team-mates. However we do at least have a couple of different options in what's been a problem position this season - can he help hold the fort until the big two of Boyd and Porter return?
