Caretaker boss Sam Collins could do a lot worse than stick with his young guns for the long trip to Exeter ...

It's one thing bringing in 17 year old like Dan Jones and Kieran Green for a Johnstone Paints game and then expecting them to perform the same way in an important league game, of course.

But they and Collins have nothing to lose and surely one will start and the other will be on the bench as their mentor stakes his claim for the manager's job.

IOR will go about their selection for the job in the same professional and cautious way they appoint all of their executives. But big Sam's interview will be all the easier if he has some fresh talent in his side which is actually bringing home some points.

It will be hard away from home even if Exeter have injury problems with Jordan Moore-Taylor injured during Tuesday’s game at Coventry City, and Liam Sercombe and David Wheeler both stilll injured. That means the Grecians have eight regulars sidelined.

But this game is all about how Sam Collins' first league selection perform.
