Pools go to Crewe in cup with new name

Gresty Road

With days to go before the League One fixtures for 2012-13 are announced, Hartlepool united know their first fixture of the new season ... away to newly-promoted Crewe in the first round of the Capital One Cup (anybody know who Capital One are?)

In the week before the start of the new League One season, scheduled for August 18, Pools go to Gresty Road to face the side that earned a return to League One by winning the League Two play-off at Wembley.

The match will probably be played on Tuesday August 14.

Pools were seeded for the draw, which meant they avoided some of the bigger names at this stage of the competition.

Meanwhile, the club’s season ticket sales have passed the 2,000 mark, an achievement which suggests that they should reach 3,000 before the season starts and trigger the big money prize draw the club has introduced this year.
