What’s the ideal fixture for a team with one win in the last nine games need to get back some confidence and earn some much-needed points? A home match against a team from near the bottom of the table. What does it get? An all-ticket match against an alleged big club battling to get into the Championship.

No pressure there for Hartlepool United then as Leeds United come calling at Victoria Park on Saturday.
When the fixtures were first published way back in June, anybody who studied them would know that January and February were easily going to be the toughest two months of the season, and that’s how it’s worked out as Pools.
A stuttering win over Oldham and a similar performance in a draw with Gillingham, both at home, are all Pools have to show for their efforts so far in 2010, and playing Leeds is obviously a tough one in which to rediscover your winning form, even allowing for the fact that Leeds have suffered one or two League One setbacks themselves in the last few weeks.
At the same time they’ve been demonstrating that they have what it takes to compete at the top by winning at Manchester United in the third round of the FA Cup and producing more good form against Tottenham in round four.

Pools have three home games out of four in February, the Leeds match followed a fortnight later by another clash with a West Yorkshire side, Huddersfield, and three days later it’s Carlisle at the Vic before the month ends at Millwall, who will be keen to take revenge for their 3-0 defeat at Pools in December.

But it would be typical of Pools to beat Leeds.

Chris Turner was pleased with everything but the result at Norwich last weekend, when Pools took the lead and produced a performance that earned them a lot of praise, but no points.

I'm hoping tonight's cup replay wears Leeds out so they are too tired on Saturday.

Kisnorbo,Kilkenny,Gradel,McSheffrey,Lowry were either injured
or cup tied on wednesday,all are fit to play on saturday so i dont think tiredness will be a factor on saturday..
