Ritchie Humphreys made his 300th appearance for the club against Darlington at the weekend. During his time he has had promotion, relegation and played in 3 playoffs

Rithcie Humphreys made his first appearance for the club back in 2001 after Chris Turner signed him from Cambridge. Humphreys first goal for Pools came against Luton but Pools lost the game 2-1.

During his time at the club Humphreys experienced promotion in 2003, playoff final in 2005 and relegation in 2006. Humphreys has certainly been on a rollercoaster at the club. He missed the penalty in the 2002 playoff semi final against Cheltenham but the next season was a vital player in the promotion campaign and was named Pools player of the year and was named in the PFA team of the year of 2003.

After the promotion season Humphreys became an author and he wrote the book 'From tear to cheers'.

Humphreys became a club record holder and is ranked 4th in the world for the most consecutive appearances for the club. His run of 203 games came to end earlier this season against Hereford and he was shipped out on loan to Port Vale soon afterwards. Humphreys returned to Pools 2 months later and was determined to get back into the side and it didnt take long for him to regain his place.
