Loudest Roar

Hartlepool have always had passionate supporters and according to a recent survey we are also the 14th loudest in the football league. The winners of the award were Championship side Colchester United who recored 128 decibels during their 4-3 win against Derby County

According to football league findings Hartlepool fans have 14th loudest roar in the football league. The recording was taken when the players walked out against Swindon Town on the opening day defeat at The Vic.

The crowd of 4,690 made more noise thant the 26 000 fans at Sunderlands first game and the 24 000 fans at Birminghams opening day game against Colchester. The winners of the competition for the loudest roar went to Colchester United. The newly promoted Championship side had a crowd of 4 500 when they beat Derby County 4-3 at Layer Road.

Danny Wilson told the official website "the backing we recieve is very important to the lads and can really help lift their performances"
