In part 5 of Pools Online season preview we take a closer look at Shrewsbury Town, Stockport County, Swindon Town and Torquay United.

Shrewsbury

A good season for Shrewsbury last time around as they managed a 10th place finish in League 2. This season manager Gary Peters has brought in 6 new player including a new keeper, Ryan Esson.

The Shrews play their home games a Gay Meadow which holds approximately 8 000 supporters.

Last seasons top scorer was Colin McMenamin who bagged 11 goals in league and cup

Pools Online Prediciton: Bottom half

Stockport

Stockport and Hartlepool do seem to have a habit of sharing players. Last season Chris Turner returned to Hartlepool as dircector of sport after being sacked as Stockport manager. Jon Daly another Poolie who came from Stockport. Stockport had a poor season last term as they were threatened by successive relegations. In the end they survived finishing 3rd bottom with 52 points. This season Stockport have brought in Gareth Owen from Oldham Athletic.

Stockport play their home games at Edgely Park 11 540.

Last seasons top scorer for County was former Poolie Jermain Easter who scored 8 times.

Pools Online Predicion: Relegation 

Swindon

The team relegated as second bottom in League Two it is hard to believe only 3 seasons ago both Hartlepool and Swindon were both fighting for promotion in the Division 2 playoffs. The main news coming from Swindon was the announcment of Dennis Wise as the new manager and Gud Poyett as his assistant. Swindon have also been very busy in the transfer market signing Jamie Vincent from Yeovil, Ady Williams from Coventry and Curtis Weston.

Swindon play their home games at the County Ground which holds over 15 000 people.

Last season main threat came through Rory Fallon who netted 12 times in the league.

Pools Online Prediciton: Promotion  

Torquay

Torquay had a dissapointing campaing last time finishing 5th bottom. This season manager Ian Atkins has brought in Stevland Angus, Lee Mansell and Jamie Ward.

Torquay play their home games at Plainmoor which has a capacity of 6000.

Last seasons main threat was Tony Bedeau and Joe Kuffour who both scored 9 league goals
