Having hoped the sacking of Andy Thorn and the win over Birmingham City were turning points in the world of Coventry City, reality came a calling at its a*se-biting best, as a dismal display versus Crewe led to another dismal defeat.

Over 1,500 supporters made the trip to Gresty Road, as caretaker manager Richard Shaw did his best to make sure he won't be considered for the luke-warm seat. Those fans that travelled deserved far better than the garbage they were once again served up.

A few sitters were missed by the away side, but they got what they deserved from this fixture: absolutely nothing. The star of Tuesday's match, Carl Baker, went from 'world class'* to 'back of the class' in the space of four days, with hardly anybody giving a performance to justify their wages.

The match ended with captain Kevin Kilbane hurling abuse at those that had wasted their money travelling to watch this fixture, and the result left Coventry City in that all too familiar position of 17th (Since reduced to 18th). He has since apologised, to the best of my knowledge, the teams hasn't.
