Ipswich Town defender Scott Barron has resumed training after a persistent groin injury finally settled down.

The 19-year-old had surgery on his groin last year to try and rectify a groin injury which had forced him to rest and miss a number of games before he went under the knife and eventually made a return for Town’s reserve team against Coventry City but his return to fitness was put on hold after limping out of the reserve game against Leicester City with what appeared to be a recurrence of the groin problem.

Town physio Dave Williams: “It looked like a reoccurrence of the groin injury and if rest hadn't sorted out the problem then we would have had to look at Scott having an injection, but it's settled down and he's back in training and should be involved with the reserves again, perhaps next week.”
