Ali Fuseini joined Lincoln City in the January transfer window in 2011 after just one game at Lewes. The former Millwall man joined the Imps in somewhat controversial circumstances before going on to be a regular in the starting line up.

Ali Fuseini, Lincoln City Signed from : Lewes

Debut : 1st February 2011 - Bradford City 1 Lincoln City 2

Ali Fuseini joined the Imps in January following on from a brief spell in the Blue Square South with Lewes. He had played at Millwall, who were in League One at the time, on a regular basis before being released in the summer of 2010.

He had trials for Leeds, Crystal Palace and Leyton Orient before eventually joining Lewes and then City. His signing was seen as something of a coup for the Imps due to the Championship clubs that were interested in him at the start of the season.

Off the field matters that involved him going to court meant that his debut for the Imps was delayed. He was eventually found not guilty of the crime he was accused of and made his debut for the Imps a few hours later, putting in an impressive shift in a win over Bradford City.

Fuseini became a regular fixture in the Imps starting line up for the rest of the season, but his debut proved to be something of a one off as his performances and passing went seriously downhill.

He was placed on the transfer list at the end of the 2010/11 season after the club were relegated. No clubs were interested in him and he subsequently remained. He struggled to keep his place in the starting line up once Steve Tilson left and eventually left by mutual consent after David Holdsworth took over.

I think there is a decent player in Fuseini, his display at Bradford showed that. I hope he can push on with a preseason behind him.
