Boring, boring Lincoln! City fail to score again

Lincoln City failed to score for the tenth time already this season and rarely looked like hitting the net. However, City will count themselves very lucky to have gained a point against a Torquay side who looked far better than their position would suggest.

City started the game reasonably well, with debutant Baker heading over within the first minute or so. Shane Clarke came close to scoring his first ever goal for the Imps as well after side footing wide following a decent passing move that involved Oakes and Smith.

The half continued with very few chances before Carlisle had two opportunities to open the scoring for the visitors. Hargreaves was booked a few minutes later before Stefan Oakes tried his luck from 40 yards, forcing Poke into the only save he would have to make during the entire game.

Torquay had appeared to take the lead when Sills flicked a header towards goal, it must have only been an inch or two wide as virtually everyone in the ground thought that it was in.

The visitors dominated the game after half time again with Danny Stevens proving particularly tricky to deal with, shooting just wide from distances. Tyrone Thompson also shot wide before Oakes yet again failed to complete a game as he was taken off for Richard Butcher.

Shane Clarke headed off of the line before Khano Smith hit an effort wildly off target. Kevin Nicholson hit the ball just wide from a freekick before Clarke against cleared off the line in a scramble that resulted in Hargreaves shooting wildly over.

Howe and Smith went out for Pearce and Jamie Clarke but neither could have an impact as the visitors continued to dominate.

Neither side could score that vital winner and City failed to score yet again, further proving that the 4-5-1 formation isn't going to be an entertaining one.

Entertainment value was zero today.
We shouldnt be playing one up front against a team near the bottom of the league.
We should be attacking teams at home instead of playing for a draw. We looked more like the away team today as Torquay had loads of chances in the second half and looked like the only team that were going to score.
We'll soon be playing in front of crowds under 3,000 if that is the C R A P that is served up!!

Very Very Very DIRE not getting on Suttons back 4 games in BUT that is not aceptable to play with 1 striker when we are at home by my calculations that is about 4/5 chances created in 270 mins of football.....

I think people are expecting too much. Jackson, arguably our worst manager for the last 20 years, had nearly 2 years and assembled one of the poorest City sides to grace SB, despite having our biggest budgets in our history.

I said at the beginning of the season we would struggle to score goals with the attacking players Jacko had bought in and many people on here scorned at that.

Sutton has had 4 games in charge which have yeilded 7 pts, what do people expect with the legacy Jacko has left and the cash he has spent.

Sutton is doing a fantastic job in sterring us towards safety, but it will be 2 years perhaps before we can attain anything in this league such is the damage Jackson has done, Yes I know he was a good guy, good at Pr etc , etc but as a Manager of City he has smashed our club and put us back 6 years.

Sutton was left with a shambles , But he has stopped the rot , He will make mistakes , But give him time not just 4 games , It remains a fact that we have only let in 1 goal in four games , The scoring issue can be worked on ,
