No ground has changed more within the last 20 years that Old Trafford. Redeveloped more times than Katie Price self-promotes, Old Trafford has turned into one of the world's great footballing venues and the largest club stadium in England.

Manchester United, the club I fell in love with a long time before I even knew Lincoln had a football team. I loved United from early childhood after my dad took me to a game against Tottenham Hotspur, so anyone who calls me a glory supporter is obviously ignoring the fact I started supporting them in '88, when they hadn't won anything for years. Whilst I'm on the subject, doesn't it annoy anyone else that Liverpool fans called United fans glory supporters despite the fact they started supporting Liverpool right in the middle of them winning everything?

I love visiting Old Trafford and have seen the development each stand as the years have gone by, from standing on the Stretford End terrace, to the top tier of the North Stand and even just behind the dug outs. There are no words to truly describe how much I love Old Trafford and I have seen many great games there ranging from a 9-0 thumping of Ipswich, a 4-3 win over Madrid and many victories over Manchester City, to the occasional defeat, the last one being a 3-1 defeat to Chelsea in 2005.

The view from all stands is magnificent and the atmosphere at a full Old Trafford and the reputation of only singing when winning is a bit undeserved, although the range of songs isn't exactly the broadest. The only thing about Old Trafford I don't like is the upper tier of the North Stand, although it offers a great view, I certainly recommend it if you're scared of heights like I am.

The newly installed quadrants are the same as well, and involve a delightfully long walk up a flight of stars next to windows, meaning you can see just how high you are actually going.......luckily there are lifts.

The only thing I despise when going to Old Trafford is finding a parking space. The best place to go is the Trafford Hall Hotel, roughly a 10 minute walk from the stadium and probably the cheapest parking around the place. Also, there is very little to do around the ground if there is an early kick off. Nothing within a 10 or so minute walk of the ground seems to be open until 11am and by then it's starting to get crowded.

Please be aware that there are plenty of illegal car parks around the place as well, meaning that there is a high chance that you could get back to your car and it's clamped.

 

Overall, if I had to pick my favourite game at Old Trafford, it would have to be the 9-0 win over Ipswich, just a great day to be a United fan and to this day, still the record Premiership win. However, there is nothing quite like a European night at Old Trafford, with games during the late 90s against Juventus proving to be amongst the most intense atmospheres you will have encountered at the time.
